In the summer of 2001 I had crossed the Baltic (in the sleeping car of an old Mitropa train, on a ferry) to leave Stockholm and return to Berlin. I had been away from Berlin, but for one or two visits, since 1995, when I’d fled the black diamond city (exasperation) to live in sun-stunned San Diego for a few years. When Dubya was running for Prezertainer I made the grandiose announcement that I would leave the country if the simp was elected and, unlike 99% of the Lefties who said the same thing, I really did it… though, … Continue reading DOES THIS TINFOIL MAKE YOU LOOK FAT?

The third annual SNICAD (Supra-National Insensitive Cultural Appropriation Day) went off with barely a glitch, yesterday, in an undisclosed location, with well over three dozen-ish anonymous participants indulging in hurtful fun. The secrecy is because of our fear of deadly (Twitter) reprisals. Which explains, as well, why I’ll have to use heavily filtered snapshots to illustrate the big event. But it was grand. Everyone appeared to have an illicitly good time and the clean-up, in the wee hours (wrangling the odd sombrero or stray Afro wig, from various corners of the sticky floor, in the dark, with a broken litter … Continue reading SUPRA-NATIONAL INSENSITIVE CULTURAL APPROPRIATION DAY
Around the World in 35 Minutes with my Occasional (and occasionally well-argued) commentary on YouTube threads (edited for length)… 1. How this Transgender… …. TED speaker, Paula, who started Life as a man, speaks on the experience of Womanity and is not pilloried as Mansplaining on Steroids (or Estrogen), is beyond my understanding. My comment: “She’s sharing her experience of what it’s like to be TREATED as a female.” I think it’s more that Paula is being treated as Transgender, unless Paula is spending all her time in provincial backwaters where they haven’t heard of such a thing. Paula doesn’t read as … Continue reading LO the MIGHTY BULWARK of EPHEMERA vs the GRAFFITI of the COMMENTARY DESPOILING ITS PRISTINE SURFACES
I’ve never been a swooning fan of Cornel West’s presentation (like those other On-Camera Academics, Slavoj Zizek and Camille Paglia, West’s branding tics… in Paglia’s case it was demotic gum-chewing, in Zizek’s case the tics are literal… are as lurid as a Professional Wrestlers’ masks and capes) but the man has tried to maintain a consistent, coherently dissident presence, against tremendous odds, for quite some time. Since 2008, at least, he has struggled: almost a decade of swimming against a terrifyingly lockstep crowd. The tremendous odds against which West had to set himself were generated by the Charismatic Obama Regime … Continue reading WHAT IS LEFT
Will this Inspire or Depress you? John Cassavetes’ film, FACES, came out in 1968, when I was nine, and I first saw it in 1980 or so, when I was 21, and it seemed to point, if not to a smarter popular culture, then to the possibility of a thriving subculture of frank, intelligent expression in The Arts. Already a minority within a minority (a Matryoshka doll of identity) I didn’t mind the idea of spending the rest of my adult life among the marginals capable of enjoying, or even making, a film like FACES (or William Greaves’ Symbiopsychotaxiplasm, also from 1968); … Continue reading CHILDREN of the NEVALUTION
